Height

I measured Thomas today for his 2 year measurement. He is 86.5 cm tall. At the same age Mark was 85cm. Both under the 50th percentile. They say you grow to be twice your height at age 2 which means Mark will only be 170cm and Thomas will be 173cm. Not tall by any means but still taller than their mother!

Ruth says: If that is true both our kids will be around 1.80cm tall. That is a bit taller than both the parents so I am not sure if that can be right !!

If that doubling height thing is true, I'm supposed to be 5'10''. Where are my last 2 inches!!!!!

Jambin is around the 75th percentile for height, which is reasonable considering he was off the charts for weight and height at birth (4860g and 58cm)

Thanks for your congratulations on my exciting news!! You'll have to give me lots of advice on being a mother of 2. Seems overwhelming at the moment - Jambin is so active and intense and clingy - I can't imagine having 2 to parent.

Finally I'm sitting here with my 'record books' too.
Kirsten was 80cms, which equates to 1.60m (don't tell her that! she's not happy with it, Jan!!).
Declan was 95cms, which equates to 1.90m.

It seems like a reasonable 'guesstimate' to me-

How tall are you?
I think I'm shrinking already. I used to be 172cms, but think 171 might be right.

PS How can we get rid of the accountant within ourselves??
