BOOKS

We are now members of the Toowoomba library. It is great! We have all been reading so many books. Mark loves books now. He actually has the attention span for them now, and will sit on your lap and listen to stories for ages.

I have found some really nice kids books like this one "How Big is a Pig?". It has great pictures and a simple story. He likes the ones about animals, that rhyme etc. I think for his birthday I will have to go out and try to buy him some of our favourites.

On the mend

Mark is feeling much better now. He is still very congested and not yet eating or sleeping like normal, but he is much happier!

We had Stephen's parents here for a visit on Sunday, then Sunday night Mark came for dinner. This is the last time we will see him till he comes back from overseas in December. Makes us think back to our trip last year.....

Ear Infections

Our poor little guy was diagnosed with 2 infected ears on Tuesday morning. He has been on antibiotics since, but on Tuesday he vomitted up his meds so did not really start till yesterday. He is not really showing any signs of improving yet but has only been 24hrs, Dr said would take probably 48hrs. He is not drinking at all unless forced, but is still eating some food. It has been hard on me the last few days though as he has just been irritable and clingy ALL day which is very draining.

Please pray he gets better soon. Luckily he has been sleeping OK the last few nights.

On a brighter note - we are going shopping and lunching with Petra today which will be fun!

Weekend Away

We went to the sunshine coast for the weekend to visit my parents. The weather was fantastic and we had a really nice walk along the boardwalk at Coolum. The views over the beach so spectacular that Stephen and I both looked at each other and thought maybe we should be making a plan to move to the coast in the near future!

On the way home we had lunch with Stephen's sister Jo and her husband Matthew. Their baby is due in November and it is starting to get exciting - not long to go now before we get to meet the little one.

Mark is now walking much better and since yesterday he really is walking to get around rather then crawling. The problem is he can not yet get back into standing without the help of furniture so if he falls he has to crawl to something to stand back up.

I am sad to report though that Mark has come down with another cold, and slept VERY badly last night. Poor little guy he has just gotten over his last bug. He is also teething so he is pretty miserable at the moment. He was very clingy yesterday afternoon and I had to carry him around with me most of the time - then of course he was fine when Stephen came home!

10 Months Old Today!

Time flies, feels like just yesterday that I put a post on saying Mark was 9 months old!

Mark is now about 70cm tall and weighs approx 10kg. He has 4 teeth now and is completely weaned. He is starting to walk. This morning I counted 15 steps in a row! He is still using crawling thoughas his main mode of transport. He has been sick for 2 weeks of this last month, but he is fighting fit again and VERY busy. He does not stop, he really is tearing the house apart these days. By the end of the day when he has gone to bed Stephen and I breathe a sigh of relief and tidy the house ready for the next day's destruction.

He is as wonderful as ever and we love him dearly. I have booked him in for Daycare starting on the 1st of September so this next month will be a time of change for all of us!

Work

I went into work this morning to sign an agreement about returning to work part time. It is starting to hit home that I am going back to work VERY soon. I think I have to start getting over my denial. Still do not have a definite place for Mark at Daycare, so am really praying that that sorts itself out in the next few days as I was wanting him to start on the 1st of September so that he has a few weeks to ease into it before I go back to work on the 19th.

I am a bit uneasy about things at the moment.

Glad to see that happy face again

I feel better now

Almost Better

Well I have not put a post on my site for a while, but we have all been quite sick with the flu and are only now starting to get better. I still have a bit of a croaky voice, Mark has a slight cough left and Stephen is still not feeling 100 %. But we are feeling MUCH better. Mark has also now decided to sleep in till 7am in the mornings which is fine by us, he does still wake a couple of times during the night though. It has been so cold here at night the last few nights, the days have been lovely and sunny though. Can almost feel spring coming.

Mark is taking more and more steps - still just one or two at a time, but he is getting a little more confident.
