This is Thomas on his first day of Kindy at Martin Luther Community Kindergarten. He knows the teachers Annie and Jo from when Mark came last year. He was perfectly happy to be left there. He is thrilled that Mark's kindy has become his Kindy and now he gets to play with all the stuff! The teachers say he is a very confident little boy - whatever that means!

Ruth says: it is so much easier for the second child to settle in quicker as they have seen the environment before. Nice to hear Thomas is enjoying kindy.

It is good to have a routine now with the year in full swing. You must enjoy the small segments of mini freedom.
He looks so happy to be heading off to kindy.
It's something I haven't even thought about yet. I don't know how to find a kindy (preschool down here, kindy comes AFTER preschool, then grade 1) that's not a child care facility. There are a few 'infant schools' around, but are strictly geographical with their enrolments. Perhaps we'll skip kindy altogether and just do prep the following year.
